You can join NCC through your school or college if they have an NCC unit. Contact your institution's NCC officer or visit our registration page to find NCC units near you. Enrollment is typically done at the beginning of the academic year.
For Junior Division: Students in Classes 8-10 (13-18 years). For Senior Division: College students (18-24 years for boys, 18-25 years for girls). You must be a student of a recognized institution with an NCC unit and meet physical fitness standards.
Yes, NCC training is completely free of cost. All training materials, uniforms, and equipment are provided. Cadets only need to maintain their uniforms and attend regular training sessions.
NCC offers three levels of certificates: 'A' Certificate (after 2 years for junior cadets), 'B' Certificate (after 2 years for senior cadets), and 'C' Certificate (after 3 years, the highest NCC certificate). Each certificate has specific training requirements and examinations.
NCC C Certificate holders get preference in defense forces recruitment, earn bonus marks in UPSC examinations, receive priority in various job applications, and may be eligible for direct entry schemes in armed forces. It's highly valued in both civil and defense sectors.
You can verify your NCC certificate online through our portal by entering your certificate number and personal details. Alternatively, contact your directorate office with your certificate number for verification assistance.
Annual Training Camps (ATC) are mandatory 10-day camps held once a year. Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC) run for 12 days. Special camps like RDC (Republic Day Camp), TSC (Thal Sainik Camp), and adventure camps have varying durations from 7 to 14 days.
Wing allocation (Army, Navy, or Air Force) is done at the time of enrollment based on availability and preference. Switching wings is generally not permitted once training begins, as each wing has specific training curricula and progression paths.
